Discussion Groups

The Parent Connection: A discussion group for parents

This new monthly offering was requested by parents who have participated in previous parenting programs. Come with questions, thoughts or general ideas you would like to talk about to share the joys and challenges of parenting.

Video Discussion Group: "Good Kids, Bad Choices"

This selection from the Emmy award winning television series, Connect With Kids, features real children and teens sharing their true stories about the challenges they face every day. Sometimes good kids make bad choices. Come participate in a discussion after watching a DVD about this particular parenting challenge.

Video Discussion Group: "Mirror, Mirror"

Magazines, television, Hollywood- these have set the standards in body image for many girls. But this skewed view of beauty has led to body-image distortions. The DVD, Mirror, Mirror examines the seriousness of this topic, as well as how it starts, where it leads and why girls seem to be more affected than boys. Discussion will follow viewing portions of the DVD.
