Parenting Principles

These principles are seeds of wisdom. We believe they help parents better understand their children. They can give us new ways to think about our job as parents. They have been collected from many authors and researchers as well as from our own observations about parenting.

These are the "what's" of parenting rather than the "how to's". These principles are meant to raise awareness and appreciation for the role of parenting.

You may like some of these principles more than others. You may disagree with some of them. As a parent, we invite you to think about the list and adopt the principles that you find valuable into your own parenting.

A new principle appears on our Home page two times each month. They are listed here as they have appeared.
